Chatrix is a platform for genuine human connection. To keep it that way, all users must follow these guidelines:

• Be respectful. Treat every person you meet with basic dignity.
• No nudity or sexual content. This is enforced automatically on the video stream, not only when someone reports it.
• No hate speech based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
• No harassment or bullying. Enforced through the strike system below.
• No spam or commercial solicitation.
• No content involving minors in any sexual context. Zero tolerance, outside the strike system entirely — see our Child Safety Standards.
• You must be 18 or older. Chatrix is not for children.

Most random video chat sites describe moderation in one vague sentence, or do not mention it at all. Here is exactly what runs on Chatrix, so you can judge it instead of trusting it.

Strikes are the consequence of a confirmed sexual-content violation. Each one is recorded against the account with its reason, its source and its confidence score.

• Strike one — warning. You are told what happened. The call continues.
• Strike two — the call ends. The session is terminated immediately and you are warned that the next violation suspends the account.
• Strike three — 30-day suspension. The account cannot match for thirty days. It restores itself automatically when the suspension expires.

Child sexual abuse and exploitation sits outside this ladder completely. There is no warning and no strike count: the account is terminated permanently on the first finding.

Your video and audio travel directly between your device and the other person's (peer-to-peer), and the stream is not recorded or stored. That is good for your privacy, and it has a consequence worth understanding: we cannot go back and watch what happened in a call.

What we do hold is the flagged still frame described above, the strike record, and the report you or the other person filed. That is what a reviewer works from. If you report someone an hour later and nothing was flagged at the time, we have far less to act on — which is why reporting during the call matters.

No random video chat platform, including this one, can make talking to strangers risk-free. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. These are the things our moderation genuinely does not solve:

• Automated detection is not perfect. It misses things, and it occasionally flags something harmless. That is why human review exists, and why human review is also not instant.
• We cannot verify anyone's age from a video stream.We require 18+, we enforce it when we find a violation, and we restrict minors' access to the app — but a determined person can misrepresent themselves on any platform.
• We cannot stop someone recording you. The other person can screen record or point a second camera at their screen. Nothing technical prevents this here or anywhere else.
• Account-free is not the same as anonymous. A peer-to-peer connection reveals an IP address to the other side during setup. That is how WebRTC works on every platform that uses it.
• A ban is not permanent identity enforcement. Someone suspended can attempt to return. Strikes raise the cost of bad behaviour; they do not make it impossible.

The practical conclusion: the safety tips at the top of this page are not filler. They are the part of your safety that you control, and they matter more than anything we run on our side.
